Team Cox is our enterprisewide, employee-powered volunteer force. We are thousands with one goal: Leave the world better that we found it. Team Cox’s hard work highlights that doing the right thing for the environment and our community is at the very core of who we are.

When it comes to building a better future, we start from the inside out, At Cox Enterprises, we live this value by donating time as well as money. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and getting to work in the communities we serve and call home. Every year, Team Cox volunteers rack up tens of thousands of volunteer hours.

OUR AREAS OF FOCUS

Our volunteerism is focused on solving challenges for underserved communities in two strategic areas:

Environment
STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math)

In addition to volunteerism, we support our communities and partners through financial donation and by generating awareness through in-kind media support.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta

In 2019 Cox and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta joined forces to launch a new approach to mentoring with a program called Beyond School Walls. This program combines traditional mentorship with an immersive educational experience. Students come to Cox Enterprises twice a month to meet. Each visit includes a group curriculum presentation and time for the Bigs and Littles to reflect on the curriculum together.

Girls Inc.

For more than 10 years, Cox has supported Girls Inc. by volunteering and mentoring at local chapters across the country. As a corporate partner to Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta, Cox sponsors its annual fundraiser and hosts its Business and Entrepreneurship Week Marketplace Day –- a program where girls learn about branding businesses, creating budgets and executing marketing plans, and then sell their goods at a pop-up-style artists’ market at Central Park. Cox Enterprises is a national partner with Girls Inc., and was the awarded the 2020 Corporate Vision Award.

Out Teach

Cox is partnering with Out Teach to build a dynamic new Outdoor Learning Lab at Harper Archer Elementary School. Students, teachers and community members designed their ideal space, and more than 100 volunteers will work together to build their vision. Teachers will have a space to lead exciting and engaging experiential STEM lessons outdoors, adding science back into the school day and embedding relevance, purpose and real-world meaning to every subject.

Hands on Atlanta

Hands On Atlanta and Cox Enterprises have partnered to build a volunteer portal that will make STEAM service projects more accessible to the local community. The new portal addresses the critical, ongoing need for volunteers to help execute STEAM programing by connecting people to community partners. Learn more about how STEAM powers our communities.

National Environmental Partners

Cox employees actively support local environmental organizations across the country. Over the last few years, our employees volunteered over 11,500 hours where we live and work to reduce carbon emissions, conserve water and divert thousands of pounds waste.

Keep America Beautiful

Keep America Beautiful (KAB) inspires and educates people to take action every day to improve and beautify their community. Established in 1953, KAB strives to End Littering, Improve Recycling, and Beautify America’s Communities. KAB believes everyone has a right to live in a clean, green and beautiful community, and shares a responsibility to contribute to that vision. KAB empowers generations of community and environmental stewards with volunteer programs, hands-on experiences, educational curricula, practical advice and other resources. The organization is driven by the work and passion of more than 600 KAB affiliates, millions of volunteers and the collaborative support of corporate partners like Cox Enterprises.

American Rivers

American Rivers protects and restores the nation's rivers and the clean water that sustains people, wildlife and nature. Cox employees’ work with American Rivers has resulted in removing more than 16 tons of waste and debris from rivers and riverbanks in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Captain Planet Foundation

For more than 30 years, Captain Planet Foundation has worked as a program operator and grant-maker to engage and empower young people to be problem-solvers for our planet. A key element of our partnership is Project Learning Gardens which has provided more than 530 U.S. elementary schools with creating sustainable gardens that become onsite learning laboratories and provide healthy food access.
